Greg Irvine started life as
a journalist in the quiet South Australian town of Ceduna, a rural town in the state's
west coast where he was born and raised and completed his entire schooling. While in his hometown Greg developed a passion for the media and he
begun reporting on horse racing and aussie rules football with the West Coast Sentinel at
the age of 14. He also spent a number of years as a radio announcer where he was able to
present a program incorporating music and sports each Friday and Sunday.
From an underage punter, he has grown to become one of
Australias freshest racing reporters. His links with the racing industry have
included working as a strapper, judge, committee person and rookie owner.
More recently he has also become linked with the SA
Thoroughbred Breeders in which he regularly compiles written work for the
association in various publications including the SA Racing Authority Calendar and the
association's website.
Irvines passion for horse racing is clearly visible.
Now based in Melbourne he is on track at all of the major Victorian meetings and presents
all of the action to a worldwide audience via Cyberhorse.
Greg's vast knowledge of racing is regularly sought out by
his peers and general racing followers from around the country. An astute judge of
horseflesh he is regarded as one of the best tipsters in the country.
