Australian
jockeys have trainers have dominated at the double header meeting in Singapore over the
weekend. On Saturday former Sydney jockey Craig
Carmody took riding honours with a winning treble, while his former Sydney rival Larry
Cassidy was also among the winners.
Mark de Montfort was also a winner as were trainers Don
Baertschiger (twice) and John Meagher. Malcolm Thwaites was the most successful trainer on
the day by winning the first three races. Kiwi Laurie Laxon also trained a winner.
Meanwhile, Mark de Montfort was back in the winner's stall
at yesterday's meeting. He was the only Aussie to taste success.
Thwaites trained another two winners yesterday for a total
of five over the weekend.
Meanwhile, John Didham was the only Australian to taste
success in Macau at their meeting on Saturday night. Didham went close to a winning
double, but he was nosed out in the fifth race.
Placegetters were achieved by fellow ex-patriot riders
Danny Brereton, Shane Treweek and Nathan Day. |
