Former leading race commentator Ken Howard, the man with the "london
bricks", has been inducted as an Associate in the Australian Racing Hall of Fame in
Melbourne at Crown Palladium tonight.
Born in 1910, Howard was to become one of the most familiar voices in
Australia as the man who brought the colour of Sydney racing to hundreds of thousands of
radio listeners throughout the country.
He called for over 40 years and also took his skills overseas, visiting
England to call the Derby.
