Last year George
Hanlon walked away with the Racing Personality of the Year at the Australian Racehorse of
the Year awards, a year on he has joined an elite list of trainers by being inducted into
        the industry's Hall of Fame.
George Hanlon is one of the oldest active licensed trainers in
        Australia.
In a career spanning more than 50 years he has built up a formidable
reputation training the winners of most of the nation's feature events. His wins include
three Melbourne Cups (Piping Lane, Arwon and Black Knight), a Caulfield Cup, a Cox Plate,
an AJC Derby and a Doncaster as well as four Adelaide Cups.
At the age of 83 he trained Mr Prudent to
win the Sydney Cup. And this racing season that same gelding ran a narrow second in the
same race and he also had another stable runner Rain Gauge place twice at Group One level,
including a great third to Old Comrade and Northerly in the Australian Cup at Flemington.
