Boom Sydney
juvenile Thorn Park has extended his unbeaten run to two with another runaway win this
afternoon. After winning his debut race by over three
lengths the boom on the gelding was huge and he was sent out a long odds on favourite at
Rosehill today.
With leading jockey Darren Beadman in the saddle, the
gelding got back early before storming to the lead with about 250 metres to run and he
drew clear to win by four lengths.
The chasing brigade, headed by Highest ($31) and Strictly
Smart ($6.50), were no match for the $1.50 fancy.
The colt, a son of the five time Group One winning European
Champion Spinning World, is trained by Bob Thomsen and already the experienced trainer is
comparing him to his present day Group One star Shogun Lodge.
The win gave Darren Beadman a half win lead in the Sydney
jockey's premiership over Corey Brown. |
