Corey Brown's chances of winning the Sydney
jockey's premiership were given a boost when his appeal against a recent suspension was
adjourned. The appeal will now be heard on Monday,
therefore giving Brown the opportunity to ride at next Wednesday's mid week meeting.
Richard Freedman, the brother of leading Melbourne trainer
Lee and a Sky Channel personality, will now be present at the hearing and will be
representing Brown. Freedman is currently overseas but he will return before Monday.
Yesterday Brown and Darren Beadman were among three riders
to boot home winning doubles. Brown holds a half win lead over Beadman in the premiership.
The battle for the title will continue on Saturday where
both hoops have leading mounts. Beadman is expected to edge back in front when he partners
the boom Thomsen trained colt Thorn Park in the first race.
