A top class
field of eastern state sprinters are set to clash in next week's Ramornie Handicap at
Grafton, as part of that city's upcoming Cup Carnival. The $126,050 Qantaslink Ramornie Handicap (1200m) to be run next Wednesday,
attracted 33 quality entries. The combined prizemoney earnings of the 33 entrants is a
staggering $4,901,168.
Among them are last start stakes winner Stormcat Academy,
last start city winners A Deena, Cariboo, Gahela Baby, Just Devine, National Saint,
Threatner and recent stakes winners including Alpine Express and Pittance.
The handicapper will play a major role in the shape up of
the field for the 1200 metre feature. Weights are expected to be released tomorrow
afternoon.
Meanwhile, the other feature on Wednesday's card is the
Sportsman Grafton Guineas (1600m) for the three-year-olds.
A $30,500 open event, the Guineas attracted 27 entries
including Breakaway, Full Limit, Kerouac, She's a Dish, Sir Redford, The Ark and Wild
