Victorian
jockey Shane "Bluey" Tronerud has scored a winning double on a big night of
racing in Macau over the weekend honouring some of Australias best ever gallopers. There were eleven races run under the lights on Saturday night in
Macau named after such legends of the Australian turf as Shannon, Rain Lover, Rising Fast,
Tobin Bronze, Tulloch and Trenton.
Australian jockeys won four of the eleven races, with
Tronerud leading the way with a double.
The other Aussies to end the night with a winner were Danny
Brereton, who won the first race, and Nathan Day, who won the last.
As well as those hoops booting home winners, there were
also placings for Shane Treweek and John Didham, while Sam Hylands best finish on
the card was a fourth.
The meeting was best forgotten for Hyland after he was the
victim of a three meeting suspension during the night.
Stewards outed Hyland for careless riding in one of the
races and he wont be back in the saddle until July 20.
Meanwhile, Melbourne jockey Danny Nikolic has starred in
Asia over the weekend with three winners at the two day Perak July meeting.
Nikolic won on Can Dash on Saturday before backing up the
very next day for a winning double with Unbeatable Man and Trust n Triumph.
And there was also more joy for kiwi born and Sydney
premiership winning Larry Cassidy who was in the winners stall in Singapore on
Friday. |
