Stewards have
cleared riders into the cause of fall in which a horse was killed and a jockey dislodged
in Adelaide recently. Lady Vicki, a member of the
Darryl Dodson stable, crashed to the turf in the vicinity of the 600 metre mark in the
Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarran Handicap at Victoria Park on June 22.
Clare Lindop was dislodged from the mare who had to be put
down after snapping a leg in the fall.
Adelaide stewards adjourned an inquiry which resumed late
last week. The inquiry came to the conclusion that no rider was responsible for the
incident.
"It was established that Lady Vicki, which was racing
keenly, clipped the heels of Delottie (J Potter), which had been inclined to race
ungenerously, and rolled out slightly," the report said.
"Stewards concluded that the incident was
accidental," it stated. |
