Australian stewards ordered ten jockeys at yesterday's Balakalava race meeting to provide
urine samples for testing. Three apprentices and
seven senior riders, including some of the state's best, were selected by the panel to be
swabbed.
Five of Adelaide's most experienced hoops Simon Price,
David Tootell, Jeffrey Maund, Jon O'Connor and Bill Sharp were all asked to provide a
sample or urine. The other seniors asked were Bradley Vale and Din Azis.
Former Queensland and New South Wales apprentice Nozi
Tomizawa was one of three junior rides swabbed. The others were the provinicial based pair
of Justin Potter and Michael Hoppo.
Two horses, including an unplaced runner, were also swabbed
at the meeting yesterday. |
