| John Hawkes
has broken his own Commonwealth record for the number of winners in a season when one of
his team won at Gosford today. Jeremiad, with
Sydney's current premiership leading jockey Darren Beadman in the saddle, proved too good
on debut winning the Phoenix Maiden Plate.
Hawkes set a new record last season when he prepared 318.5
winners around the country. Jeremiad's win was number 319 for the current season.
With over a month still left in the current racing season
Hawkes looks set to post a big winning tally, which is going to be mighty hard for him to
