In an amazing
result Calcavecchia and Northern Charisma have dead heated in the Elsworthy's Retravision
Hurdle at Geelong this afternoon. The judge at
Geelong couldn't separate the two runners after the 3150 metre race and over a dozen
jumps.
Saturday's Steeple winner Bill Williams was aboard the
Dennis Heather trained Northern Charisma, while Simon Ryan rode the other dead heater, the
Robert Smerdon trained Calcavecchia.
The $3 favourite Liston was a further seven lengths back in
third place for Brett Scott. The other fancy McHutch ($3.20) was fifth.
The joint winners both handled the slow conditions well and
stopped the clock at 3 minutes 39.92 seconds. |
