Thunder Hawk, a
50/1 outsider, has been scratched from tomorrow's $503,000 The Queensland Derby (2400m) at
Eagle Farm. Trained by Rob Heathcote at Eagle
Farm, the son of Thunder Gulch was set to run in the race after finish unplaced last start
in the South Australian Derby at Morphettville behind Pantani and subsequent Adelaide Cup
placegetter Silver Baron.
Leading Melbourne hoop Stephen Baster was to be the gelding's
rider in the big race.
Thunder Hawk, a winner of two races, had drawn barrier four
for the Derby and that means a number of the runners will now come in a gate. The
favourite Distinctly Secret now will occupy gate five, while high class filly Galroof will
jump from barrier eight. |
