Victorian
jockey Wayne Davis has suffered a riding set back after being suspended for careless
riding at Caulfield yesterday. Davis' ride aboard the
Doug Harrison trained gelding Our Blitz came under scrutiny by stewards which ultimately
led to a "holiday."
Stewards reported that Davis "was found guilty of a
charge of careless riding, the careless riding being that near the 800 metres he permitted
his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of Just Like Kelly, thereby taking Just
Like Kelly in across the running of Racaban, resulting in Racaban having to be
checked."
Davis' ban is due to commence to midnight on Thursday and
expire at midghnit on Monday June 24. |
