High class
three-year-old Royal Code has received the "visitor's draw" for Saturday's Group
One Honda Goodwood Handicap at today's barrier draw in Adelaide. The David Hall trained gelding, a winner of the Alister Clark Stakes at
Moonee Valley at this most recent start, drew barrier 21 for the 1200 metre event.
Brett Prebble will ride the son of King's Theatre, who will
be racing for Port Lincoln based tuna finshermen Tony Santic (of Smytzer fame) and Dragan
Vidov.
Santic is yet to win a Group One race and will be keen for
Royal Code to provide his greatest thrill in racing. Royal Code is already a dual Group
Two winner, both interestingly coming at Moonee Valley.
Another high profile galloper to fare badly at today's
barrier draw was the Russell Cameron trained Group One winner Bomber Bill. He drew the
extreme outside gate of 23.
The Goodwood has a full field of 23 runners, three of which
are currently emergencies.
In other Goodwood news one of the dead heaters of the recent
Honda Stakes at Victoria Park, Windigo, will miss the race with continuing hoof problems.
Trainer Ramon Goldsmith has chosen the rest the gelding and
enable him to freshen. |
