Victorian trainer Tony Noonan is yet to
decide on whether his dashing stayer Yammer will start in Monday's Adelaide Cup or head to
Brisbane for their big two miler.
Noonan said on Sport 927 this morning he
would use "the next couple of days to decide" on whether he will run in next
        Monday's Adelaide feature.
"His weight (54kg) in Brisbane is much
more attractive than Adelaide (56kg) and we could reserve him from Adelaide for the
        Brisbane race," Noonan said.
But the weather could help make the
decision for Noonan. When asked whether if the rain came in Adelaide in the lead up to the
race he would run the trainer quickley repied "yes."
Noonan is expecting his Bellotto gelding to
improve after his unplaced run in last Saturday's Group Two Carlton Draught Stakes at
        Morphettville.
Sent out the second favourite Yammer had a
good run in transit but was unable to produce his usual strong finish when asked by Nash
        Rawiller.
"He's always been set for the two
miles so I would think he should improve on Saturday," Noonan added.
Markets for the Adelaide Cup would require
a major reshuffle if Noonan and the owners of the gelding decided Yammer would head north.
Currently the NSW TAB fixed odds service
has Yammer rated an $11 chance, on the third line of betting.
