Brilliant Australian galloper Universal Prince has escaped any serious injury
after a terrifying heavy fall during the running of the S$3 million Singapore
International Cup at Kranji last night.
Ready to pounce on the leaders at the top
of the home straight the Bede Murray trained galloper clipped the heels of other runners
after some tightening before crashing to the turf.
Jockey Justin Sheehan also escaped injury
after the incident in a race won by the Godolphin galloper Grandera, a horse Universal
Prince beat home in Hong Kong at their previous clash.
Bede Murray has reported that Universal
Prince seems to have escaped the fall.
"Justin is fine and the horse is fine,
for now," a dejected Murray said after the race. "We will know more about the
horse in the next day or so."
"The inside horse rolled out and a
horse came up on his outside and closed the gap, he clipped heels," Murray said of
the incident.
"Justin is very shaken up and his
first reaction was how's the horse." |
