A punter who heaved abuse on a female apprentice after her mount missed a place
at Flemington today found himself ejected from the races.
Michael Hallal used language what stewards
deemed as "unacceptable" when he yelled at young apprentice rider Jade Darose
after the fourth event today.
Hallal, who belted out atleast three swear
words to Darose when she was unsaddling Perliffic, was quickly summonsed to the steward's
room to front chief stipe Des Gleeson.
Stewards informed Hallal that "a
report regarding his behaviour would be forwarded to Racing Victoria."
Following his stint in the steward's room
Hallal was escorted from the course by the Racecourse Detective, Peter McMillan.
Perliffic, who was rearward early, ran home
well to finish a handy fourth in the Secure Investments FIB Lady Mayoress' Plate over 2500
metres. The Darose mount was a $7 chance. At the post Perliffic was only about a half
length from the winner The A Train. |
