Champion Melbourne jockey Damien Oliver is hoping he
will be fit to ride at the Anzac Day meeting in Melbourne tomorrow. As usual Oliver has a strong book of rides on the feature meeting at
Flemington, however he is in doubt for the meeting after injuring a knee in a jump out
yesterday morning.
Oliver said that his knee had been treated since the incident
and it was making good progress.
Last Saturday Oliver was in Adelaide for the opening day of
the smoke-free Cup Carnival and he won the Port Adelaide Guineas aboard the kiwi galloper
Our Kazz for Frank and Craig Ritchie.
Oliver's scheduled rides at Flemington for tomorrow are Fuji
Dancer in the listed Anzac Day Stakes, La Zoffany in the listed Matron Stakes, Grey Song
in the Group Three VRC St Leger and Panoramic Lad in the listed Auckland Racing Club
Stakes. His other rides are Super Impressive and The A Train, who are both being targeted
at feature events in Adelaide.
