Top class Australian galloper Universal Prince has arrived
in Hong Kong for his first international test.
The Bede Murray trained gelding touched down in Hong Kong
yesterday in preparation for the Audemars Piguet QE II Cup on April 21.
A son of Scenic, Universal Prince hasn't started since
finished a close second to champion New Zealand mare Ethereal in the million dollar The
BMW at Rosehill in Sydney on Golden Slipper day, March 23.
Murray told the Hong Kong Jockey Club the horse's
preparation has been going to plan and he is looking forward to the challenge.
"The horse pulled up well from his last run and has
done well since," Murray said.
"Everything's in order for Hong Kong and we're really
looking forward to it," he added.
Connections are confident Universal Prince will appreciate
the track on which the rich race will be run.
"By all reports Sha Tin should be the perfect track
for him," Murray added.
Other international gallopers will continue to arrive in
Hong Kong over the next week. Agnes Digital will arrive on Thursday evening local time
after being shipped from Dubai.
Constant traveller Jim and Tonic will arrive from France on
Sunday morning with another French galloper Lethals Lady.
The American representative With Anticipation will touch
down in Hong Kong next Monday afternoon. |
