trainer Eric Musgrove has lost one of his leading chances for this weekend's Oakbank
Carnival after the Zabeel gelding Real Zeal was killed yesterday. The gelding was working on the course proper near the end of
yesterday morning's track work session when he suffered a fatal broken leg.
"Sadly the horse was destroyed," Oakbank's
Chairman John Glatz told ABC TV.
"It's just one of those things. The horse was only
working on the flat at the time," he added.
Meanwhile, in another blow Noble Jon's Oakbank campaign is
also over after he bowed a tendon in his lead up for trainer David Brideoake. |
