Libidinious will be the sole runner for the Alan
Bailey stable in Saturday's listed Clipsal Stakes at Oakbank after the leading interstate
stable nominated three runners for the feature dash. Bailey
had also nominated Point Danger, the winner of last year's Clipsal Stakes, as well as the
recent Swettenham Stakes winner Suzy Grey for the 1100 metre event.
However a mixture of bad health and bad handicapping has
led the stable to not accept with either Point Danger or Suzy Grey.
"Point Danger got sick the other day and that is the
reason we pulled him out at Moonee Valley on Saturday," Bailey's son and Melbourne
foreman Trevor Bailey said.
"He (Point Danger) was treated and was never really a
chance of running at Oakbank after that."
Meanwhile, Bailey said that a heavy weight given to the
promising mare Suzy Grey also prevented her from heading west.
"We feel she got a kilo more than she should have so
she won't be heading to Oakbank either," Bailey added.
