Despite having tumbled late in a Hurdle Trial at Oakbank on Monday
the Tony McEvoy trained jumper Lance Corporal will be fit to race at the famous Adelaide
Hills track on Saturday. The gelding was jumping in
good style before he misjudged the final jump and fell. However, the gelding escaped the
incident unscathed.
"He's fine to race on Saturday," a relieved Tony
McEvoy told Cyberhorse.
The gelding will line up in one of the divisions of the
Dicksons Limited Sharebrokers Restricted Hurdle on Saturday.
McEvoy will have another representative in the jumping
races. Mascagni, who was beaten as an odds on favourite at his last jumping run when he
was terribly unlucky, will run in the Yalumba Classic Hurdle on Monday.
As reported yesterday The Hind will not be contesting a
jumping event at Oakbank. He is an acceptor for the listed Onkaparinga Cup on the flat.
The stable has the Grand National Hurdle picked out for the former Adelaide Cup winner.
