Melbourne
jockey Sam Hyland took the feature race in Macau yesterday during a day in which four
Australian jockeys saluted with winners. It wasn't
until race five when Jim Byrne kicked off the Australian luck when he rode Roller to win
in a driving finish.
The following race the Director's Cup over 1200 metres was
won by Sam Hyland aboard X-Speed. The gelding was always travelling like the winner and
drew clear to win by over two lengths.
Nathan Day got that winning feeling when he toiok the
eighth race aboard Black Avalanche in a six length demolition over 2000 metres.
Two races later the quartest of wins was completed when
Shane Scriven booted home Xin Jiang Bo Bo to win by two lengths. Peter Hutchinson was
third in the same race.
It was a frustrating night for Hutchinson. The former
premiership winning hoop had two other minor placings on the program.
There was also no joy for John Didham, who's best result
was a second placing in the final race of twelve on a heavy track yesterday. |
