The inquiry into the
activities of two licenced trainers near a country Victorian racecourse has been adjourned
after a hearing today. Miners Rest based trainers
Simon Morrish and John Smerdon fronted Racing Victoria Stewards today for an inquiry which
was subsequently adjourned until March 21.
Stewards were inquiring into the activities of both Morrish
and Smerdon near the Penshurst racecourse on February 24, "and also into two bags and
items contained in those bags which the Stewards took possession of at the Penshurst
racecourse on that day."
Evidence was today taken from both Smerdon and Morrish as
well as fellow trainers Darren Weir and Russell Cameron. Further evidence was taken from
the Racecourse Detective and a Racing Victoria Veterinary Surgeon.
The inquiry will resume at 11am on Thursday March 21. |
