Adelaide's in form jockey Travis Creek has ended his stakes
race drought when he gave a faultless riding display to win the Malaysia Airlines Stakes
aboard the Dan O'Sullivan trained Cosmic Strike at Victoria Park on Saturday.
Cyberhorse's on-the-spot Adelaide photographer Jenny Barnes
was on track to capture the sheer joy of the young hoop as he guided the youngster to a
great win.
A former Victorian apprentice, Creek's move to Adelaide last
year was a revelation and he is now leading the premiership by eight wins.
Creek, who recently teamed up with Gary Kennewell for a
successful hit-run in Melbourne, is enjoying life in Adelaide.
"It's certainly a lot different to Victoria, but I'm
really enjoying it," he said. So much does Creek like it he recently purchased a
house.
The hot young jockey is enjoying the Adelaide way of life and
also the fact he is mainly only riding twice a week.
"At the moment I'm mainly only riding at the midweek
meeting on Wednesday as well as Saturday and then at a public holiday meeting."
"It's been hard to crack into the other places like Port
Lincoln and Port Augusta because people up there have their set jockeys for the
round," Creek told radio station Sport 927.
