Victory Vein and Choisir
have booked themselves a start in the Golden Slipper after their respective top class wins
at Canterbury Park on Saturday night. However,
Victory Vein is just one of a number of leading chances that is currently not nominated
for the world's richest race for two-year-olds.
Trainer Bede Murray and the filly's owners will have to pay
the late entry fee of $110,000 before they are allowed to take their place in the 1200
metre event.
Melbourne's star unbeaten colt Bel Esprit is another which
was originally not entered in the Slipper.
Other leading chances which are also not nominated include
Calaway Girl (eighth in order of entry), Chuckle (ninth), Cool Trent (eleventh), Smash
(sixteenth) and Kidman (twenty first).
