Brisbane trainer Barry
Baldwin has had his recent training disqualification for a positive swab sample halved
after a hearing held in Macau late last week. Last
season's leading trainer was originally outed for four months after an original hearing
into a sample returning positive to a prohibited substance recently.
As well as the two month disqualification Baldwin was
handed a HK$200,000 fine (about AU$50,000) by Macau Jockey Club stewards.
The latest two month ban will take effect from Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Baldwin has lodged another appeal into a penalty
handed out by Stewards after a second stable runner returned a positive swab.
Baldwin is one of three trainers appealing against their
short bans after one of their runners returned a sample containing the banned substance ambroxol.
The appeal is against both the charge as well as severity imposed.
No dates have yet been set for that hearing. |
