| The lure of rich feature
races in two cities in one 24 hour period is too much for four riders who will ride in
both Melbourne and Sydney on Saturday. Leading hoops
Scott Seamer, Brett Prebble, Glen Boss and Patrick Payne will kick off Saturday by riding
at the Futurity Stakes meeting at Caulfield before boarding planes and heading to Sydney
where they will saddle up at the Canterbury Guineas night meeting.
Seamer, who's riding in white hot (red isn't hot enough for
him) form at present, has five confirmed bookings for Caulfield, four for Lee Freedman as
well as the champion Cups heroine Ethereal. He will then head to Sydney where his feature
ride is aboard the kiwi Derby king Leica Guv for Jeff McVean. He is also booked to ride
the boom Queensland filly Calaway Gal and the in form kiwi Preferred Lies in Group events.
Glen Boss is in the busiest weekend of all the hoops. He
will fly to Sydney, where he has eight rides on the Canterbury Guineas card. Then he will
remain in Sydney where already he has five bookings for the meeting at Warwick Farm on
        Sunday.
         SCOTT SEAMER
Australia's hottest jockey is hunting further Group One
glory in both venues on Saturday.
He will ride last start winner Barkada in the Futurity
Stakes (G1) - one of four rides for local trainer Lee Freedman. He also partners Ethereal
for the first time in Australia since her record breaking Melbourne Cup win.
He will also be aboard Leica Guv in his Australian debut in
the Rosehill Guineas and boom Queensland filly Calaway Gal in the Sweet Embrace Stakes in
the fourth event. One of his more interesting rides is for Richard Dee. Seamer and Dee
will combine with the in form Preferred Lies in the Group Three Canterbury Cup.
