Brisbane trainer Barry
Baldwin has lodged an appeal with the Macau Jockey Club after be was handed a four month
disqualification on Friday. The appeal was
tabled today and a stay of proceedings was agreed by authorities for Baldwin to remain
training his team of horses.
Stewards handed Baldwin a four month ban after an adjourned
inquiry into a positive swab of a recent winner.
The Baldwin trained Cheers Forever returned a positive swab
to the prohibited substance hydroxypromazine.
A statement issued by the Macau Jockey Club today stated that
Baldwin had lodged an appeal.
"The ground of his appeal are that he is not guilty of
the charge brought against him and that the penalty imposed is excessive," the
statement said.
The appeal date has been set as March 3. |
