Top Queensland jockey Michael Cahill has been granted a licence for
the luctrative Hong Kong racing scence. The permit,
which was approved today by the Hong Kong Jockey Club's licencing committee, has granted
Cahill a licence to ride there from March 4 until June 30.
Cahill, 36, has already ridden some 84 winners this season
from 448 rides. In all he has booted home more than 2000 winners.
The rider who served much of his apprenticeship with
Neville Begg comes from a family steeped in racing tradition.
In recent times Cahill has teamed up to win many races
throughout the eastern states with Gold Coast based trainer Gerald Ryan.
A winner of nine Group races and ten at listed level,
Cahill's biggest win came when he partnered the champion sprinter Falvelon to victory in
the Group One Doomben 10,000 last year. |
