Former top American
galloper and Grade One winner Dixie Brass, who was a promising sire in the Northern
Hemisphere died earlier this week at his home at the Stallion Park near New York. The 13-year-old won the G1 Met Mile at Gulfstream Park in 1992
during a short career on the track which netted him six wins.
At stud his best performers have included Dixie Dot Com and
Blumenthal. He has just six crops racing and no less than 23 stakes winners to date.
At this stage the exact cause of death is not known. An
autopsy will be held to determine this in the coming days. |
