Plans to send champion Western Australian galloper
Northerly to Dubai to race against the world's best remain on track after a visit to Dubai
by trainer Fred Kersley. Kersley and his wife
and part owner Judith have just returned from Dubai where they gave the thumbs up to the
facilities.
He said this morning that Northerly would make the trip if he
was racing "well enough."
Northerly has been nominated for both the Dubai World Cup on
dirt over 2000 metres and the Dubai Duty Free over 1777 metres on turf and no decision has
yet been made as to which race the gelding would run if he was to travel in the search of
international fame and fortune.
Kersley also indicated that his star galloper would probably
miss the CF Orr Stakes, which was expected to be his racetrack return in his autumn
campaign.
Meanwhile, the Serheed gelding will be a star attraction at
tomorrow's Pinjarra meeting in Western Australia.
Northerly will be giving an exhibition gallop there between
races.
