Everything points to the Mick
Huxtable trained Dallaeni to be the one to beat in tomorrow's Bianconi at Collingrove
Handicap at Cheltenham in Adelaide. Sure
Dallaeni is the handicapper's selection, with the mare being given 57 kilograms (will
carry three less after the claim), and she appears perfectly suited, but an incredible
link between the race name and the mare's dam must be the best pointer.
Stella Matutina, the Huxtable owned mare who is the dam of
Dallaeni (as well as Aimbury and Mootiara), was recently served by a Collingrove Stud
based stallion - and yes incredibly it was the second seasoner Bianconi!
Dallaeni, who won the Dequetteville Stakes as a two-year-old,
is currently racing in the best form of her career and a win in tomorrow's race would be a
promoter's dream.
Huxtable's apprentice rider Michael Hoppo, a three kilo
claimer, will have the job of riding the mare for the first time in the metropolitan area.
Meanwhile, the current yearling out of Stella Matutina, a
full sister to Mootiara being by Rustic Amber, is catalogued for sale at next month's
Adelaide Magic Millions Yearling Sale. |
