A capacity field has been guaranteed for Wednesday's
$100,850 IFS Silk Stocking Handicap on the Gold Coast after acceptances were finalised
today.Heading the weights are the in form New
South Wales duo of Quest for Success and See the Gold.
Quest for Success, a member of the Rod Craig stable, has
drawn barrier eleven and will have the services of the top Sydney rider Glen Boss.
Corey Brown meanwhile will be reunited on the Bede Murray
trained See the Gold. Brown has ridden the mare twice for two wins. Barrier seven will
give her every chance to extend her winning run to six. See the Gold has won eight of her
past ten races and will be the measuring stick on Wednesday.
The Toowoomba trained Laurinel Argie is the highest weighted
local challenger. A member of the Rex Lipp stable the mare is also in great form with four
wins from her past five starts.
Gai Waterhouse, Peter Moody, Ron Maund and Gerald Ryan are
set to saddle up two runners each in the Silk Stocking.
Waterhouse has engaged Lenny Beasley to ride the top
class performer Stylish Lass, while Jim Cassidy will be looking for a big performance from
Heritiere, who's looks a great chance on the minimum weight.
It's been a huge season for Queensland's Peter Moody and he
will be hoping the great run continues with his two runners, Bravisa and Carbrecel. The
former fared terribly at this morning's barrier draw (22), while Carbrecel drew in the
middle of the field for popular Sydney rider Chris Munce.
Gerald Ryan is pinning faith in his pairing of West Ward and
Gilded Wings, both of which appear to be well weighted but drew terrible barriers. Jason
Taylor has the ride on West Ward (barrier 18), while Michael Cahill will partner Gilded
        Wings (20).
Another Queensland based trainer Ron Maund is also set to
saddle up two runners. Ena's Treasure has drawn barrier 8, while stablemate Here for Glory
is sure to get a lovely run from gate six.
The Silk Stocking Handicap will be one of eight good races to
be run at the Gold Coast track on Wednesday.
Cyberhorse will be on track and file reports from the Silk
Stocking Race Day and the Magic Millions Classic Day on Saturday.
