Former top line jockey Kevin
Moses will take the next step to his new training career when he saddles up first first
metropolitan runner at Rosehill tomorrow. The
lightly raced five-year-old Aussiewaa, a former member of the John Size team, will carry
the Moses hopes in the seventh race of the day, the Diggers' Restaurant Handicap.
Rod Quinn will take the ride on the Waajib gelding, who has
come up with barrier eight in the 1200 metre event.
A consistent Group One winner in the saddle Moses has just a
couple of horses in work and is hoping his first city runner can run boldly.
Last start Aussiewaa finished a respectable fifth (of ten) at
Newcastle behind the subsequent Sydney stakes winner Carael Boy.
He is the winner of five of his eleven starts and has been
fitted up to this race with an unplaced barrier trial at Randwick on December 14. |
