Myles Plumb, the Flemington
based private trainer for Lloyd Williams, has nominated a staggering fourteen
two-year-olds for the one race at Bendigo next week. The
huge group comprises of mostly unraced gallopers, some bred in Australia while a number
were foaled in New Zealand.
Among the group is Freehill the youngster who made some handy
ground to finish second to the debut winner Chowpie at Caulfield last Saturday. The colt
is by Danehill from former smart New Zealand sprinting mare La Rose Noir.
All of the remaining thirteen entries are first starters.
Some of them have trialled while others are yet to be seen in public.
Among them are youngsters by Anabaa, Jetball, Grosvenor,
Kaapstad, Danehill, O'Reilly, Volksraad, Bluebird, Spinning World, Torrential and Timber
Country.
In all there are 40 two-year-olds entered for the $8,000 race
which will be run over 1000 metres.
Michael Moroney has four youngsters entered for the event
including the Danehill filly Cassis, a $375,000 yearling purchase on the Gold Coast last
January. She will race in the Arrowfield Stud colours (carried by Flying Spur, Miss
Bussell etc). |
