The full brother to the former outstanding galloper and promising
young stallion prospect Redoute's Choice has missed a place at his debut run in Sydney
this afternoon. A member of the Gai Waterhouse
stable, Platinum Scissors could manage to only run sixth in the Bankstown Trotting Maiden
(1250m) at Canterbury.
Like Redoute's Choice, the Jim Cassidy mount is by the
champion sire Danehill, a horse who will not be shuttling to Australia this year, for the
first time in over 15 breeding seasons.
He is from the winning Canny Lad mare Shantha's Choice, a
half sister to the proven Australian sires Hurricane Sky and Umatilla. Shantha's Choice is
also a half sister to the dam of last season's Group winning juvenile Salameh, a son of
Secret Savings.
Redoute's Choice is standing the 2002 season at Scone's
Arrowfield Stud in New South Wales for a service fee of $33,000 (inc GST and free return).
