It's been a bright start to
the breeding season for New South Wales breeding farm Boscobel Stud when they welcomed a
well bred colt on August 1. The colt by the leading
international sire Marju is from the Tasmanian Oaks winning Fairy King mare Masterkova.
Boscobel's Richard Turnley was delighted with the colt, the
first foal born on the property this season.
"The foal was born about ten days premature and is a
strong nuggety individual with good legs and a nice body," Turnley reported.
Masterkova is a daughter of the leading international sire
Fairy King, a stallion who's better known for producing top performers like Helissio,
Turtle Island, Second Empire, Encosta de Lago, Revoque, Oath, Beckett and Fairy Heights.
Fairy King of course is also a brother to Sadler's Wells and Tate Gallery and a three
quarter brother to the champion Nureyev.
The colt by Marju is the first foal of Masterkova, who's
out a stakes placed sister to Victory Dash.
Victory Command, the dam of Masterkova, is also a three
quarter sister in blood to the triple crown winning juvenile Tierce. |
