Just days before the
official start of the new season on August 1, Lynden Park Stud are celebrating the birth
of a special filly. Unlike most fillies at the stud's
Red Hill property this youngster doesn't have four legs and she won't be aimed at the Blue
Diamond Stakes!
Late last night the stud's General Manager Julie Nairn and
her husband Tom became parents for the first time.
A delighted Julie gave birth to a happy and healthy
daughter, Emily Laura, who tipped the scales at eight pounds at 11pm last night at
Frankston's Peninsula Private Hospital.
Lynden Park's Marketing Manager Amanda Bennett reports that
both mother and daughter are in great shape.
"Julie is very excited and happy about the arrival of
Emily," Bennett reported. "Both Julie and Emily are doing very well."
Under the old Australian Stud Book rules the filly would
have been hidden behind the bushes until August 1, however as the stud can confirm with
some certainty that the last date of service was after September 1 last year there will be
no penalty associated her being born before the new season. |
