Kwun Tong Legend, a
four-year-old gelding by Danehill, has broken through at his sixth start on Mildura Cup
Day in western Victoria today. A four-year-old, Kwun
Tong Legend proved a touch too good for the Final Card filly Saville's Anguish in the
Qantas Link Maiden Plate over 1200 metres.
The winner, who is trained by Doug Harrison and was ridden
to victory by Jade da Rose, is from the Shareef Dancer mare Song of Years.
Interestingly breeding experts would realise that Shareef
Dancer is by Northern Dancer, the same sire of Danzig, the entire responsible for
Danehill.
Stakes placed at Newmarket, Song of Years has had three
foals to the track and with today's win they are all winners in different countries. Her
Pursuit of Love colt named Energetic Prince is a winner in Hong Kong, while her son by
Selkirk, Moayed is an Irish winner.
Danehill, who is missing this breeding season in Australia,
is a multiple Champion sire on both sides of the world. He is renowned as one of the most
exciting sire of sires thanks to the exploits of Flying Spur, Danzero, Danewin, Lion
Hunter, Danehill Dancer, Danasinga, Desert King and Nothin' Leica Dane. He also has a swag
of exciting prospects at stud including Indian Danehill, Catbird, Arena, Keeper, Magic of
Sydney, Redoute's Choice, Honours List, Commands, Great Dane, Johan Cruyff and Dangerous. |
