Beautifully bred colt Ruby
Jester showed he had inherited some racing talent from his famous dad and top producing
mum when he scored a fighting win in Queensland today. It may have only been a lowly Class Three at Ipswich, but they say a win is a
win, and Ruby Jester displayed plenty of heart to score in the 1200 metre event.
Ruby Jester as his name suggests is by the Collingrove
Victoria based super sire Rory's Jester, a former Golden Slipper winner, cum juvenile
siring sensation.
The colt is from the Seventh Hussar mare Ruby. She is well
known as the top producing dam of the Group One winners Euclase and Rubiton.
While both were Group One winners on the track, they have
also both proved to be stars in the breeding barn.
Euclase is the sire of a number of good gallopers including
La Baraka, Be Discreet, She's Discreet, Fireband, Victory Trump, Eubecha, Mrs Bently, Star
Hit, Euclase Pat, Sayer Road and Peaceful Sky.
A former Horse of the Year, Rubiton has been a star of the
barn as well. Currently based at Blue Gum Farm in Victoria, Rubiton is the sire of
Flavour, Adam, Ruby Clipper, Rubitano, Monopolize, Rubicall, Rubidium, Flak Jacket,
Innovation Girl, Millrich, Royal Rubiton and Great Condor. He is also now the sire of the
dams of some exciting gallopers including Dash for Cash, Great Glen, King of Danes,
Calming, Marbiton, Reflexes and Spurani.
During her entire breeding career Ruby was owned by well
known Victorian breeder Ray Orrlov of Oamaru Stud. The mare's final product, by Geiger
Counter was aptly named End of the Line. She has now been pensioned. |
