Coolmore's stand in
replacement for the super sire Danehill, is commanding a first class book of mares in his
initial Australian season. Giant's Causeway, Storm
Cat's most successful son on the track, is standing for an Australian record $137,500 in
his first season.
Already the exciting stallion prospect has attracted a
number of the country's leading broodmare producers and former glamour gallopers.
After Coolmore confirmed that the multi-award winner
Danehill would not be shuttling to the southern hemisphere this season a number of the
region's leading breeders were forced to choose an alternate stallions. A number have made
the switch across to the Giant.
Reigning Caulfield and Melbourne Cup winner Ethereal has
been booked in by the Vela brothers of New Zealand. She'll be joined by another former Cup
winner Jezabeel. Dual Group One winner Tempest Morn is being sent up from Gooree to be
served as well.
Other former stakes gallopers confirmed for Giant's
Causeway include Cannsea, Piccadilly Circus and Allez France.
Mares already proven as top producers are also in the mix.
Bespoken (the dam of Blue Diamond champ Bel Esprit), Nuwirah (G1 winning stallion prospect
Keeper), Shantha's Choice (multiple Group One star Redoute's Choice), Biscotte (Orr Stakes
winner Barkada) and Lagoustine's beautifully bred dam Prawn Cocktail are all visiting the
champion. |
