10/07/02 Giant's Causeway Attracts the Best Mares
Coolmore's stand in replacement for the super sire Danehill, is commanding a first class book of mares in his initial Australian season.

Giant's Causeway, Storm Cat's most successful son on the track, is standing for an Australian record $137,500 in his first season.

Already the exciting stallion prospect has attracted a number of the country's leading broodmare producers and former glamour gallopers.

After Coolmore confirmed that the multi-award winner Danehill would not be shuttling to the southern hemisphere this season a number of the region's leading breeders were forced to choose an alternate stallions. A number have made the switch across to the Giant.

Reigning Caulfield and Melbourne Cup winner Ethereal has been booked in by the Vela brothers of New Zealand. She'll be joined by another former Cup winner Jezabeel. Dual Group One winner Tempest Morn is being sent up from Gooree to be served as well.

Other former stakes gallopers confirmed for Giant's Causeway include Cannsea, Piccadilly Circus and Allez France.

Mares already proven as top producers are also in the mix. Bespoken (the dam of Blue Diamond champ Bel Esprit), Nuwirah (G1 winning stallion prospect Keeper), Shantha's Choice (multiple Group One star Redoute's Choice), Biscotte (Orr Stakes winner Barkada) and Lagoustine's beautifully bred dam Prawn Cocktail are all visiting the champion.
