Danehill Dancer's high
class son Jar Jar Binks has broken through for a deserved feature race win in the
Mercedes-Benz Stakes at Eagle Farm on Saturday. As
the Star Wars phenomenon continues to sweep the country with the release of Episode Two:
Attack of the Clones, the movie's equine namesake was proving a hit on the track.
A member of the Bryan Guy stable on the Gold Coast, Jar Jar
Binks had been racing in great style over the recent Brisbane carnival, but had little
luck in many big races.
"It's great to see he was finally able to crack it in
one of these feature races," Guy said.
"He's got loads of ability and I'm just hoping he can
take the next step," he added when questioned regarding Spring Carnival aspirations.
Meanwhile, Jar Jar Binks wasn't the only galloper by
Danehill Dancer to win on the weekend for Bryan Guy.
From the same crop of Jar Jar Binks is another member of
the Guy stable, the filly Oblige.
She made a one act of the Bohemia Crystal Class 2 Handicap
(1200m) at the picturesque Gold Coast track.
"I've got a big opinion of her," Guy said.
"I'm pretty sure she has some nice wins in her."
And if the weekend couldn't get any rosier in Queensland
for Danehill's high class siring son, the following race on the Gold Coast was captured by
Scotters, also from that same crop. |
