Two-year-old Peace Ruler
has the chance to continue the great breeding record of the Ace of Aces broodmare
Makepeace when he contests the Steeples Tabaret Super Vobis 2YO Maiden Plate (1500m) at
Mornington on Thursday. A member of the Jim Marconi
stable, Peace Ruler a gelding by Rancho Ruler, has already shown plenty of potential in
his eight career starts, and tomorrow he gets the chance to break his duck.
Peace Ruler, who earlier this year placed in the Inglis
Premier race won by Recruiting at Flemington, is a half brother to two stakes winners
including the recent Queensland Oaks in Brisbane.
Mon Mekki, a filly by Mukddaam, scored a shock Group One
win when she flew home between runners to down Night Chaser and company in the recent QTC
Oaks at Eagle Farm.
She followed in the footsteps of her bigger half brother
Make a Scene (Scenic) to win a black type event. Make a Scene won both the HIH Insurance
Classic in Adelaide and the Ballarat Cup, both at listed level. He was also Group placed
on two occasions.
Makepeace, who is a half sister to the Champagne Stakes
(G1) winner Full and By, is also the dam of the other winners Pax Seragio, Peacehaven and
Vendredi.
In February this year one of the younger members of her
family, an Encosta de Lago filly, was sold at the Adelaide Magic Millions Yearling Sale
for $62,500. The super vobis qualified yearling was purchased by Queensland based Karreman
Racing.
Peace Ruler will jump from barrier five in Thursday's
two-year-old event at Mornington. He will be ridden by Lonagan Milham. The gelding looks
set to boost his prizemoney up to six figures. It currently stands at an imposing $98,250.
The rest of the runners between them have only earned a combined total of $7,850. |
