Patrick Biancone came to the fore at the Australian Easter Yearling Sale when Demi O'Byrne
puchased a Danehill colt on his behalf for $410,000 on Thursday. The colt by the champion dual hemisphere stallion Danehill is from the
lightly raced Nureyev mare Sea Almond.
Offered by Coolmore Stud the yearling is closely related to
the recenr Group winner Landseer.
"I've purchased the colt for Patrick Biancone,"
O'Byrne said on Thursday.
"He's a lovely individual and he's by one of the world's
leading stallions in Danehill."
"The female family has worked well with Danehill. This
youngster is closely related to the very good galloper Landseer," O'Byrne added.
O'Byrne added that Biancone has had a great deat deal of luck
with the family in the past.
"Patrick trained Triptych who can be found in the
family. So that was another attraction for him," O'Byrne said. "Plus he is a
really lovely colt."
Triptych, who is out of a champion daughter of this colt's
fourth dam was twice a Champion Mare in France and a multiple Group One winner.
Bidding for the colt kicked off at $100,000 and then rose in
$25,000 amounts to $300,000 before bidding stepped up to $50,000 increments where two were
taken. It was a further $10,000 offering from O'Byrne that snared the colt. |
