| A Danehill filly purchased by
James Bester during the third and final session of the Australian Easter Yearling Sale in
Sydney will remain in Australia. The bay filly
will be the only yearling picked up by the well known bloodstock agent who will not be
        heading to South Africa.
"The filly will remain in Australia," Bester said
moments after the hammer fell on Thursday.
Bester is best known as the bloodstock buyer for one of South
Africa's leading thoroughbred owners and he went to $310,000 to snare the attractive
        filly.
"She is just a marvellous mover," he said.
"And the family works so well with Danehill."
"Her three parts brother Rock of Gibraltar was one of
the world's best two-year-olds last year."
"Rock of Gibraltar won the Grand Criterium and Dewhurst
Stakes at Group One level and this filly is a three parts relation so her pedigree is very
        appealing," Bester added.
The filly offered by Coolmore Australia, who were acting as
agent, is out of a Newmarket placed daughter of Shirley Heights. She is a half sister to
the Leopardstown stakes winner Outside Pressure.
Bester added the full sister to his $310,000 purchase is
showing good signs in her early training.
"I'm told the full sister is showing plenty with Paul
        Perry," Bester said. |
