| As expected Japan's siring
sensation Sunday Silence has come out as the leading sire on average from the 2002
Australian Easter Yearling Sale which ended in Sydney today. Five of his yearlings offered by Arrowfield Stud all sold for an average of
$820,000, with the best price being from his Duelling Girl colt which sold for $1.2
million on Tuesday. Today Rob McAnulty purchased another of his colts (ex Tinaca) for $1.1
        million.
Danehill clawed some ground back today in the final session
when two of his yearlings sold for over seven figures. 49 yearlings were offered with all
but seven of them being sold. They averaged $382,674 - thanks to his record breaking filly
        sale today of $1.5 million.
New Zealand's star stallion Zabeel had a mixed sale - but his
better youngsters were well received by buyers. Thirty five Zabeels were sold during the
three sessions at an average price of $215,571.
The ill-fated Snippets was again popular. His nine offerings
all sold for an average of $161,667. |
