A mystery buyer purchasing
under the Planet Trading banner has added his name to the Sunday Silence story at the
Australian Easter Yearling Sale in Sydney tonight. The man, who refused to reveal his name, paid $575,000 for a filly by the
champion Japanese sire to become the top priced lot of the auction.
The winning buyer was understood to be John Lever, although
neither he or Inglis' Managing Director Reg Inglis were willing to provide further
details.
"The buyer of the Sunday Silence filly tonight doesn't
want to be known," Inglis told the press tonight.
Offered by Arrowfield Stud bidding for the filly kicked off
at $200,000 and rose in $50,000 amounts to $550,000 before a final $25,000 bid was
received.
The filly, catalogued as lot number 268, was the third
yearling by Sunday Silence to be sold at Australia's leading yearling sale.
Yesterday a colt by the super sire was knocked down for a
current sales topping price of $1.2 million. |
