Catnipped's first foal, a Danehill colt, has been sold for
$500,000 during a strong surge of the Australian Easter Yearling Sale in Sydney this
afternoon.
Offered by Collingrove Stud acting as agents for Emma Boling
and Graeme Little's The Pines Stud in Victoria.
After the original bid of $100,000 was placed fifteen others
were received before the colt was knocked down to Demi O'Byrne for $500,000.
The colt was the first foal of the Maribyrnong Plate and
Magic Millions Classic winner Catnipped.
Catnipped still holds the race record for the Millions - a
time not bettered by subsequent winners who include Testa Rossa, Lovely Jubly, Assertive
Lad and Excellerator.
